Steppers weekend events showcase black excellence and the heritage of stepping. They are an ostentatious collision of fashion, dancing, and fun. Some steppers travel to dance from coast to coast across the United States on any given weekend. You can experience a combination of celebration, glamorous parties, group activities, fashion themes, contests and networking. Events drawing 500+ steppers are The World’s Largest Steppers Competition in Chicago, the Heritage Ball in Atlanta, and the Detroit White party in Detroit. • Getting there. Arrange travel to and from the event. Are you driving, flying, or otherwise? Is this a chance to carpool with other steppers?
• Check host hotel group rates for the event and look at AirBnB options
• Do you need a rental car? Sometimes, convenient event locations eliminate the need for a rental. Hosts may provide ground transport
• Buy a weekend pass to save on at-the-door pricing if the option is available
• Plan for meals and incidentals. Every event does not serve meals
