Chicago sets are coming back for the public as we see the light at the end of the tunnel. Some states have started to lift the COVID-19 restrictions for public gatherings and nightly entertainment. Slowly but surely, some steppers are getting back out there and starting to travel again. I am one of them. I have been to Chicago a few times between now and November. Seeing the slow transition of getting back to some sense of normalcy has been good as well as cautioning. Out the gate, I want to say we are responsible for our individual choices. The consequences of those choices regardless of anyone else’s opinions. Keep doing what you do and stay posted on progress with the CDC.
Getting Back Out There
I like to stick with the motto “live and let live.” A lot of people believe that some people have jumped the gun to going back out and socializing. Some think Texas and Mississippi are mad and crazy for allowing “no masks” at such an early stage. Some believe we have thrown caution to the wind. The vaccine is out but not nearly enough of us have received it or even want to take it. There are so many opinions out there and I have heard them all. I don’t disregard your opinion and will not try to force you to agree with my choices.
Okay, let’s talk steppin’. Many out-of-town steppers have asked me what’s open now if they go to Chicago to step. Here is a list of where I have been in Chicago. I believe these are regularly open to the public. Please note this list does not include private parties.

- Wednesdays – The Entrance
- Thursday – V.I.P. Lounge, The Blue Note
- Friday – The Blue Note
- Saturday – The 50 Yard Line, Bocce’s
Most of these locations take your temperature at the door. All require patrons to wear masks to enter and to be on the dance floor.
