I am elated to officially announce the launch of my new website Living the 8 Count (LT8C) with my new blog, “The 8 Count Life.” I am Sonji Stewart, the author and blogger- the face behind it all. It was more than a six month process for me to plan, brainstorm and package this idea neatly and comprehensively – keeping in mind it needs to be interesting and appealing for anyone looking for useful information. The LT8C website may not look like or be like other websites and blogs dedicated to Chicago Style Steppin’ and that is okay. The content is presented to align with LT8C’s mission.
The 8 Count Life Blog aims to provide an east coast perspective on what is going on in the steppin’ communities outside of the Midwest, particularly the east coast. This effort is intentional to recruit new steppers and create a platform and voice for steppers on the east coast.I hope to promote the stories of our steppin’ communities, grow interest and make instruction and recruiting information more readily available and closer to anyone looking for ways to be a part of what we do in this community. LT8C is to promote Chicago Style Steppin’ for what it means on the east coast and why it matters to people living here. Who is Sonji Stewart? I am a Jamaican living in Virginia Beach, Virginia and I love to step. Dance is my life fuel in many ways. If you want to know more about me, please read my bio.
The 8 Count Life Blog will have stories and news about what happens in the community on and off the dance floor – events, community causes, life appreciation and more. I will keep a pulse on the Midwest with my “Midwest Check-Ins.” Without Chicago and Midwest states, the east has no foundation to build from in this dance. Visit our Instruction page to find instructors, learn more from our upcoming monthly “Feature Instructor” and find available classes on the Calendar. Also check for special events and promotions from advertisers. Be sure to check back often and go to our home page to SUBSCRIBE to our email list.
Are you interested in writing a feature story on this blog? Well, please contact me and share your ideas. Please check out the website at http://livingthe8count.com/ and our blog, The 8 Count Life. Post a comment below or on our Facebook page and tell me what you think. This is my first foot out the gate so take it easy on me if you expected more or if there are any technical problems.
Stay tuned for more and keep visiting the website – new, fresh stories and updates weekly.
